~ Shark Teeth Comparisons ~
These pictures are just a sampling of the types of teeth that elasmobranchs have. The Great White (Carcharodon picture below) has serrated teeth which are used for cutting, the tiger shark has cock's-comb-like teeth which are used for grasping and sawing, the sand shark's teeth, known as stiletto-like teeth, are used for grasping it's preys, while the bat ray's teeth (pictured at bottom) are flat and in a pavement formation, perfect for crushing the shells of the crustaceans it feeds upon.
